CHS provides both nationally accredited first aid and CPR courses, and no-cost community awareness courses to equip you with life saving skills.
CHS delivers nationally accredited training, and free community awareness courses in support of its vision of every household in the community having the skills they need in a medical emergency. Register for one of our upcoming courses:
CHS can offer private courses to groups of people in return for a donation. Please contact us to get in touch.
CHS runs accredited first aid training, which means it is nationally recognised and can be used to verify that you are a certified first aider. For example, as part of your work or volunteering. For this option, you will need to complete self-paced online learning prior to the practical training. If you do not have a need to be a certified first aider, you can participate in a first aid awareness training, where you gain a number of important skills but will not receive a nationally recognised certificate.
As a not-for-profit organisation, CHS strives to make first aid and CPR training as accessible to our community as possible. Our first aid awareness training does not cost and you will only be asked to pay $5 to secure your spot when signing up. Our nationally recognised first aid and CPR training is $110 and $59 per person respectively.
Whether you attend a nationally recognised course or a first aid awareness training, the following topics will be covered:
- Dealing with an unconscious patient, defibrillator use and CPR
- Choking
- Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- Bleeding
- Fractures & Dislocations
- Bites, Stings & Envenomations
- Strokes
